Originally launched in 2015, Revstar was the first new electric guitar series from Yamaha in over a decade. A completely new lineup for 2022 offers three tiers, chambered bodies on every model, new racing-inspired finishes, new switching options, and left-handed models.
The RSS02T features four finish options, a custom tailpiece, chambered body and carbonreinforced neck, dual P90-style pickups, 5-way switching, and a Focus Switch.
CHAMBERED BODIES
Every new Revstar features a chambered body designed with Yamaha’s Acoustic Design process to sculpt tone and increase resonance while reducing weight and optimising balance.
5-WAY SWITCHING
Standard and Professional models offer 5-way switching. In positions 2 and 4, our circuit slightly delays the opposite pickup for a new take on classic “in between” sounds.
FOCUS SWITCH
The push/pull Focus Switch on Standard and Professional models activates a passive boost that darkens highs while increasing bass and mids for an effect like overwound pickups.
CARBON REINFORCEMENT (Standard and Professional models only)
Revstar Standard and Professional models feature carbon-reinforced necks. Professional models also add carbon reinforcement to the body for weight relief, vibration transfer, and tone shaping.
DRY SWITCH
Revstar Element models feature our push/pull Dry Switch high-pass filter circuit that was first introduced with the original Revstar series.
